It was such an honor for me to host the 5th Annual African American Literary Awards last night at the Gatehouse in Manhattan. I've hosted the awards for the past 4 years and it's always a pleasure to work with Yvette Hayward and uber publicist Joy Doss. And of course, nothing beats honoring authors and readers.
Highlights this year included a tribute to deceased gay pioneering romance author E. Lynn Harris in addition to Eric Jerome Dickey, Zane, Free, Day 26, Noise/Funk, DeBerry Grant, Renee Daniel Flagler and much, much more. Yay books!

Quickie Bio: Starter marriage crashed (thankfully), wrote my first novel Dare, directed an award-winning erotica film named Afrodite Superstar, hosted a BET short film show for 2 years. Then VH1 called & I did the "reality" show Tough Love. They branded me "Miss Picky" and everything I learned was the OPPOSITE of the "reality" lesson- YAY! I am STILL Miss Picky because we ALL should be selective- men and women. You deserve your joy.
So I created The Goddess Year!! A program where women take a full fab year to live SINGLY & date carefree without relationship pressures. And guess what? 2 marriage proposals in one year... That's my next book!
Now I'm one of the top Sex & Relationships columnists on Examiner.com, Miss Feb in the NY Sex Blogger Calendar, Host of Kiss & Tell TV and Kiss & Tell Live sexy monthly storytelling event in NYC at Madame X, and a Pepsi We Inspire Ambassador - in addition to my books and popular online show Kiss & Tell TV.
