Elizabeth Taylor’s Chicken Steamed In Wine
- 3 lbs broiler-fryer chickens, cut into pieces
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 dashes black pepper
- 1 cup dry sauterne wine

I got cute, threw on this over-the-top wavy wig, headed downtown and interviewed the fabulous up and coming singing diva Dondria!!
Miss Dondria Nicole was discovered on YouTube by Jermaine Dupri,
Jermaine Dupri left Dondria numerous messages expressing interest in signing her from YouTube. Finally she answered the call and the rest is history. I found Dondria to be sweet, talented, humble, fun, family oriented and enjoying the musical ride to success.
So this is NOT a full Dondria Nicole Fields and Abiola interview video. Instead I wanted to share with you excerpts and a photo and video diary of me and my hair hanging with Dondria!! **Bad hair day** and all– it happens. We’re still GORGEOUS, right?

Abiola: And what kinds of clients and projects are you accepting right now?
Gisele: I am accepting all clients, from funky to corporate.
Abiola: Great! So if there is an aspiring graphic artist or video editor out there, how did you get started?
Gisele: In graduate school I took one editing course and became hooked on storytelling through graphics and video. Then I helped my mentor teach a course in digital design which was fantastic.
Abiola: And the rest was history as they say. Do you have any words of inspiration for others who want to do what you do with motion graphics, video editing and as a graphic artist?
Gisele: I offer the same words I say to myself: Try to always see inspiration from everywhere-music, the way people move, films. Even a very short film can be a great cinematic experience.

Married THREE Times!? Can I TRUST A Serial Monogamist? Dating Advice (VIDEO)

Every other week Tina Tobin the Advice Maven from Luv Em Or Leave Em sends over a relationship advice question.
This week’s love advice question:
- “Dear Abiola; My boyfriend, who I love, has been married three times. He treats me very well but I am nervous about dating him and possibly getting married to a him in the future. Should I be?”
SHOULD you be nervous? Your man was married thrice and now he wants to marry you?! Girl, I will definitely file this under Kelsey Grammer, who recently divorced his Real Housewives of Beverly Hills wife Camille Grammer for his fourth wife. Yikes!
Someone who has been married three times is most likely a serial monogamist.
I would be extremely wary of dating a man or woman who had been married so many multiple times if I were you. Of course things happen. Trust mama! I am one husband in the hole so I am aware of that. But married three times and seeking to get married again? Something is awry.
Personally I would RUN and never look back.
BUT if he treats you well and all seems to be a loving boyfriend while you are dating then I wouldn’t tell you to break up with your man. I would advise instead that you do not consider marrying this dude at all. You should live with your boyfriend for at least five years to make sure that he is serious. Bessie Stringfield: Motorcycle Queen, Harley Davidson Mama & Passionista You Should Know

Paige Flori, a twitter and facebook buddy, sent me the sweetest tweet: “@abiolatv: Bessie Stringfield’s spirit reminds me of you! Inspirational, forward and gutsy.”
I had never heard about Bessie Stringfield before, but when I researched this Motorcycle Queen I realized that this was the best tweet ever and an incredible compliment. According to Paige’s Twitter bio she is a “Marketing strategist and master of on-location brand experiences. Filmmaker, connector, passionate idea girl and baseball enthusiast” so I really appreciate her virtual hug. Thank you, Paige.
So, who was Bessie Stringfield?

Bessie Stringfield was born in Jamaica, West Indies in 1911. See that? She was my Caribbean sistren. Her family then moved to the States but then her parents died when she was only 5 years old. She was adopted by an Irish mother, who gifted Bessie with a 1928 Indian Motorcycle when she was only 16. Madame Bessie took to the motorcycle like a fish to water and a legend was born. Motorcycle folks in the know say to have learned to ride on an Indian is quite extraordinary.
Bessie Stringfield, also known as the “Motorcycle Queen of Miami,” is credited with breaking down motorcycle barriers for both women and African Americans. And just to set the record straight she was not riding a pink B.S. Barbie big wheel or a toy bike for girls. Bessie, BB to her friends, was riding a serious Harley Davidson hog. Twenty five Harley Davidson motorcycles in fact, over the course of her adventurous life.
According to Wikipedia, “Bessie Stringfield was the first African-American woman to complete a solo cross-country ride and during the 1930s and 1940s she traveled through all of the lower 48 states and rode abroad in Europe, Brazil, and Haiti.” Bessie Stringfield made her first of many cross country motorcycle trip in 1930 at the age of 19. Work it, Lady Bessie!
In 2002 Bessie Stringfield was inducted posthumously into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. She died in 1993 at age 82 from an enlarged heart. Just sharing her touching story has my heart charged. Bessie Stringfield was a real live Super Woman. Wow. I don’t mind being compared to her at all. In fact, I think that I need to step my game up to live up to the legacy of this historical foremother.
Can you imagine being a being a foreign-born black woman in America riding a motorcycle through Jim Crow, the Feminist Movement and the Civil Rights Movement?
Bad ass, Bessie. Bad ass. Power on 2 wheels or 2 legs!
