It was such an honor for me to host the 5th Annual African American Literary Awards last night at the Gatehouse in Manhattan. I’ve hosted the awards for the past 4 years and it’s always a pleasure to work with Yvette Hayward and uber publicist Joy Doss. And of course, nothing beats honoring authors and readers.
Highlights this year included a tribute to deceased gay pioneering romance author E. Lynn Harris in addition to Eric Jerome Dickey, Zane, Free, Day 26, Noise/Funk, DeBerry Grant, Renee Daniel Flagler and much, much more. Yay books!
