Rush Limbaugh’s faux-pology to Sandra Fluke continues to fall flat…

How do you know if you’re a slut? Well clearly you’re reading The Passionista Playbook, a lifestyle blog focused on Passionate Living so you’re already a slut. If you’ve been pissed off watching the stupidity that is Rush Limbaugh‘s sponsor approved apology to Georgetown student activist Sandra Flukeunfold, then you may also be a slut. Limbaugh came under fire for calling Fluke a “slut and a prostitute” because she wants birth control to be included in her university health plan.

So what kind of slut exactly are you?

• Are you an ethical slut?
• Are you a feminist slut?
• Or are you just a garden variety fashion slut on Halloween and Mardi Gras?
• Maybe you’re a slut because in addition to wanting birth control you are a woman who carries condoms.

I enjoyed watching Ms. Fluke on “The View” where she was bold, outspoken and refused to fold and accept Rush’s phony apology. “I apologized to Ms. Fluke last week. I may not agree with her views but I didn’t treat her with respect and I’m sorry. I was wrong. Mea Culpa.” Ooops. Sorry about the misogynistic hate speech. My bad!

Conservative cartoonist Gary McCoy had his own non-funny interpretation. Of course if you want birth control you will be writing your number on the bathroom wall. President Barack Obama graciously contacted the activist in the wake of the controversy to see how she was doing.

Meanwhile my sometimes news crush Cenk Uygur, host of “The Young Turks,” has issued a $10,000 challenge to Rush Limbaugh, “Prove your ratings!” He calls B.S. on the 20 million listeners that Rush supposedly has. Is it a weekly number, daily, monthly? Who knows? Perhaps the greatest wisdom does come out of the mouth of babes… Remember what this teen girl had to say?
